Tour Overview
Indonesia, a Southeast Asian nation made up of thousands of volcanic islands, is home to hundreds of ethnic groups speaking many different languages. It’s known for beaches, volcanoes, Komodo dragons and jungles sheltering elephants, orangutans and tigers. On the island of Java lies Indonesia's vibrant, sprawling capital, Jakarta, and the city of Yogyakarta, known for gamelan music and traditional puppetry.Medan is the capital of Indonesia’s North Sumatra province. The huge Maimun Palace and octagonal Great Mosque of Medan dominate the city center, combining Islamic and European styles. Just north are Jalan Selat Panjang street, famed for its ethnic food stalls, and Tjong A Fie Mansion, a museum in a former Chinese merchant’s home. Southwest is the striking Indo-Moghul Catholic church of Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni. Bukit Lawang is a small tourist village on the bank of Bahorok River in North Sumatra province of Indonesia.
Day 1: Arrive Medan – Bukit Lawang
Meet upon arrival in the morning at Kualanamu International Airport in Medan, then drive to the city for a short orientation. After a brief city tour your journey then continues on to Bukit Lawang, one of the main access points to the incredible rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park- a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Passing through the plantations with Bukit Barisan on the horizon, arrive in Bukit Lawang, check in at the lodge and afternoon is at your own leisure. Overnight at Bukit Lawang.
Day 2: Bukit Lawang Trekking
Wake up to the sounds of nature and a jungle symphony and get ready to embark on a jungle exploration in the National Park (4 to 5-hour trekking) after breakfast. Guided by a professional local ranger start walking uphill through the shade of immense rubber plantations following trails in the thick shrubs. Observe the flora and fauna as you make your way through the thick jungle with well trodden paths to follow. The sight of orangutan swinging through the trees is surely unforgettable. Return to your lodge on an inflatable tube down the river rapids. Overnight at Bukit Lawang.
Day 3: Nukit Lawang
Depart Medan Check out in the morning, then transfer directly to the airport for your onward flight home with wonderful memories.

Applicable non-refundable additional / extra fee @ IDR 150,000 per video camera and @ IDR 50,000 per camera to be paid directly to the National Park officials ( subject to change without any prior notice).
