Day 1: Arrive Cochin
You arrive in Cochin by international flight. After a traditiona Swagat& (Welcome) our representative
would meet & assist you at the airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in.
Cochin always had a very popular and historical sea trade connection with Middle East, Mediterranean
Europe, Dutch and British. It has one of the finest natural harbours on the Arabian coastline. Its
cosmopolitan character is reflected in the buildings and structures representing different regions of
the world. It is one of the few places in the world where one can see a Jewish synagogue, Portuguese churches,architecture, mosques, temples and Chinese fishing nets,all in one city. A city of peninsulas and islands, today it is Kerala ommercial hub.In the evening we see Kerala most popular classical dance, Kathakali meaning “story-play” is one of the ancient forms of dancec-theater. Kathakali is also known as the King of performing arts. This is because it effectively combines the 5 major fine arts viz. literature (Sahityam),
music (Sangeetham), Painting (Chitram), acting (Natyam)and dance (Nrithyam). All these 5 arts are indispensable in the performance of the art. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Cochin
Attractions: Kathakali, St. Francis' Church, Dutch Palace, Nimmy Paul’s cookery class , Jew Town, the Jewish Synagogue, spice market and Chinese fishing nets
Morning post breakfast we leave for a half day city tour of Cochin, with visits to St. Francis’s
Church, in Fort Kochi, originally built in 1503, is the oldest European church in India and has great
historical significance as a mute witness to the European colonial struggle in the subcontinent. The
Mattancherry Palace is a Portuguese palace popularly known as the Dutch Palace, in
Mattancherry, Kochi, in the Indian state of Kerala features Kerala murals depicting Hindu temple art,
portraits and exhibits of the Rajas of Kochi.
In the afternoon you will go for cookery classes of Nimmy Paul (subject to advance booking and
availability). She teaches guests the nuances of traditional Kerala recipes. She is also a food
consultant to writers, chefs and magazines. If you have any special interests, in any traditional Kerala
recipes please inform us. We like to make every guest event a special one
Later afternoon visit Jew Town, the Jewish Synagogue built in the year 1568, spice market, where
the air is filled with the pungent smell of spices, and Chinese fishing nets.
Day 3: Cochin - Munnar (150 km/ 4 hrs)
Morning at leisure, later we drive to Munnar. The distance of approximately 150 km is covered in
around 4 hours while enjoying the scenic beauty with marvelous waterfalls, high mountains and low
flying clouds passing through. Upon arrival check-in hotel for overnight stay.
Munnar is one of the most popular hill stations in India, Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha,Nallathanni and Kundala. Located at 1600 Mts. above sea level, this was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make Munnar a unique experience. Munnar is essentially a tea town.
Day 4: Munnar
Attractions: Tea estates and Eravikulam National Park
Morning post breakfast we head for city tour of Munnar, visiting the world highest tea estates
spread like a green carpet over hundreds of kilometres, Lush green hills all around - a place to be
seen to be believed, and Eravikulam National Park (Park is closed in the month of January and
February), the best place to see the Nilgiri Tahr (mountain goat). Rest of the day at leisure to
explore the destination on your own. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 5: Munnar - Periyar (160 km/ 4 hrs)
Attractions: Wildlife Sanctuary, Boat Cruise & Spice plantation tour, Kalaripayattu fight performance
Today we head for one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in India, the Periyar Wildlife Reserve. Upon
arrival at Periyar, we assist you to check in at your hotel. Set on an attractive lakeside, it is South
India most popular Wildlife Sanctuary.
Late afternoon we shall take you to a guided tour of The spice plantations of Thekkady are a huge
draw for travelers from all over the world. A walk through them opens up a vista of pristine greenery
shrouded by low hanging clouds, gurgling brooks and a pale shadow of the Western Ghats in the
backdrop. Plantation eco-tours are organized by the District Tourism Information Office at Thekkady
in junction Kumily. There are specially designed vantage points to give you a grand sweeping view of
the Sahyadri Organic Tea factory housed in a beautiful white-washed building in Peermade. Take a
trip to this factory, see how tea is processed, and pick up pouches of aromatic tea leaves as a
souvenir for your friends back home. Plantation tour is one of the most popular activities in Thekkady,
and is a must-do on your holiday in Kerala. Evening Kalaripayattu fight performance. Overnight

Day 6: Periyar - Kumarakom (135 km/ 4 hrs)
Attractions: Backwaters & Bird Sanctuary
Periyar is a place to cruise on the lake and gives an opportunity to see wildlife. Periyar National
Park:- Periyar Tiger Reserve is situated in the Western Ghats (Thekkadi) in Idukki district of the state of Kerala, India. It is one of the 27 Tiger Reserves present in India. It spreads over an area of 777 Sq .km.. It is famous for its dense evergreen, semi evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savannah grass lands. The area is full with scenic beauty, rich in bio diversity. It is the place to be for the nature lovers. It is a habitat to rich and endangered flora and fauna. It is home to tigers, leopards, elephants, bison (gaur),antelopes, sambhar, wild boar, money etc, and a wide variety of birds.Early morning before breakfast at 0630 hrs we go for a wildlife viewing to the sanctuary on lake Periyar by boat cruise. After two hours of wildlife viewing we get back to the hotel for breakfast.Later we leave for Kumarakom known for its backwaters, huge Vembanad Lake and the famous Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Check in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for independent activities.Overnight stay. (B)
Day 7: Kumarakom -Thothapalli (Overnight Houseboat)
Attractions: House Boat & Backwaters
After breakfast a visit to Bird Sanctuary. There are two seasons for birds: between October and
February there are cormorants, teals, and other ducks and from February to July there are darters (snake birds), night herons,egrets, and Siberian storks. It also has golden backed woodpecker, crow pheasant, white-breasted water hen, tree pie etc.
This region is famous for its beautiful backwaters and village life revolving around the banks of these backwaters. On arrival board the houseboat, locally called Kettuvallam, and cruise around backwaters of Kumarakom to Thothapalli to observe and experience the daily life of the villagers along the backwaters.Overnight stay in the houseboat. Day 8: Thothapalli - Kovalam (90 km/ 2 hrs)
Disembark the houseboat and next we head for Kovalam, South of Trivandrum, one of India best
beaches and famous for water sports in Southern India. The day invested in exploring the
unbounded beauty of this place. Overnight stay. (B)
Day 9: Kovalam - Trivandrum - Kovalam
Attractions: Beaches, Trivandrum city tour
Today you will go foe city tour of Trivandrum - Located at the southern-west tip of India, with an
area of 2192 sq kms, Thiruvananthapuram District is bounded by the Arabian Sea on the west and
Tamil Nadu on the east.
Tourist Attractions:- Kuthiramalika (Puthenmalika) Palace Museum - The Kuthiramalika
Palace Museum displays King Swathi Thirunal’s paintings and collection of musical instruments and
an assortment of war arms belonging to the royal family of Travancore., Napier Museum - The
Napier Museum has an astounding display of traditional Kerala chariots and ivory carvings. It is
furnished with an array of priceless aesthetic and ethnic antiques such as stone sculptures, wood and
ivory carvings, lamps, fabrics, Kathakali miniatures, handicrafts, Kuftgiri items, musical instruments
and a collection of the Chera, Chola, Pandya coins.The Padmanabhaswamy temple Trivandrum, India is a famous Hindu temple located inside the East Fort in the city of Thiruvananthapuram in the state of Kerala in India. Thiruvananthapuram is a district surrounded by the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea.
Thiruvananthapuram itself means the abode of the sacred serpent Anantha on which Lord Vishnu rests. The temple has a seven-tier gopuram. There is a tank called Padma Theertham near the temple. The corridor of the temple has 365 and one-quarter sculptured granite-stone pillars with grandiose carvings. The corridor includes and leads the viewers from the eastern side into the sanctum sanctorum. The ground floorunder the gopuram is called as the Nataka Sala. In the sanctum sanctorum, Vishnu is in a resting position over the Anantha, which means the serpent with his face directed upwards. The right hand of Vishnu is hanging over Lord Shiva. Sridevi and Bhoodevi are the two consorts of Vishnu and they are standing side by side. The temple has a seven-story tower and a myriad of pillars. Overnight stay
