Taiwan, officially the Republic of China, is a state in East Asia. Neighbouring states include the People's Republic of China to the west, Japan to the northeast, and the Philippines to the south. Taiwan is the most populous state and largest economy that is not a member of the United Nations. Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is a modern metropolis with Japanese colonial lanes, busy shopping streets and contemporary buildings. Taichung is an industrial city on the western side of central Taiwan. It’s a gateway for exploring the island’s mountainous interior, including nature areas like Sun Moon Lake, popular for boating and hiking. 

Day 1: Arrive Taipei

Attractions: Taipei 101 – Observatory Tower,Shilin Night Market

Arrive at Taipei Taoyuan International airport. You will be met by a local representative and transferred to your hotel in Taipei. Proceed for tour of Taipei 101 – Observatory Tower, which has the world's fastest elevators and takes only 37 seconds to travel up from 5th level to 89th level observatory. The tower also has amenities like the Observatory gift shop, exquisite coral jewellery shop, shop selling gold ornaments and gold sculptures, Sky Café with various flavors of ice creams, a photo souvenir service. Besides this there is also the first international top brand shopping mall here with luxury boutiques, fashion and gourmet food. Later in the evening proceed to 'Shilin Night Market' – one of the largest night markets in Taipei. There are many shops here selling a large variety of things, food and snacks. Day 2: Taipei – Taichung

Attractions: National Palace Museum,Sun Moon Lake,Fengjia Night Market

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed for city tour – starting with the grandiose CKS Memorial Hall in downtown Taipei to pay homage to the late President. Then visit the National Palace Museum which houses the world's largest and most valuable collection of Chinese art treasures and permanent displays of ceramics, porcelain, paintings, enamelware, carvings etc. Then proceed by coach to Nantou for the popular Sun Moon Lake area - The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area is praised for its five major recreational systems, including the lake.The natural forests are good places for bird watching. There are lots of walking and biking trails here as well as gardens, waterfalls, shopping and delicacies, restaurant, handmade pottery art, traditional band and dance performances, recreation areas, tribal tours, etc.Then proceed to visit the Wenwu Temple over here - Wenwu Temple is located at the shoulder of mountain which is on the north of Sun Moon Lake. It was built in 1938. Late evening visit the Fengjia Night Market - The Fengjia Night Market is one of Taichung's famous commercial business districts, covering approximately one kilometer in diameter around Feng Chia University and includes the Fengjia-Wenhua Night Market, Fengjia Rd., and Fuxing Rd. In this CBD, you can find delicious snack foods, quality clothes at reasonable prices to express your unique personality, and the trendiest mobile phones at excellent bargain prices. Overnight at hotel in Taichung.

Day 3: Taichung – Yilan

Attractions: National Traditional Arts Center,Dongshan River Water Park,Kavalan Whisky Winery,Jiaosi Hot Springs

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the station to take the Taiwan High Speed Rail back to Taipei
(approx 1 hour). Arrive at Taipei and take the coach to Yilan. In Yilan visit the – National Traditional Arts Center. This new 24 hectare facility is located besides the beautiful Dongshan river. In addition to organized displays and performances of culture and art, it also provides a stage where performing artists can show off their creative works. You can stroll casually amongst artistic creations, listen to elegant music and enjoy exciting opera performances. From the Center you can take a boat and visit the Dongshan River Water Park. Then visit the Kavalan Whisky Winery which is the first place in Taiwan which has the capability of producing tremendous whisky and making it sold all over the world. Then visit the Jiaosi Hot Springs – this is a popular tourist destination for hot spring baths and delicacies since the Japanese colonial period. These are flatland hot springs that are odourless and clear with rich minerals. The average temperature is 58 degrees celcius. Then transfer to the hotel and check in. Overnight at hotel in Yilan.

Day 4: Depart Yilan

After breakfast, check out and transfer by coach back to Taipei International Airport for your departure flight.
