Short Description

Kerala, a state on India's tropical Malabar Coast, has nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline. It's known for its palm-lined beaches and its backwaters, a network of canals popular for cruises. Kerala is also known for its Ayurveda & Meditation; many upscale seaside resorts include specialists in Ayurvedic treatments. Inland are the Western Ghats, a mountain range whose slopes support tea, coffee and spice plantations as well as abundant native wildlife. It has beautiful Beaches, Hill Stations, Backwaters, wild Life, Culture and Plantations.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Cochin

After traditional 'Swagat' (Welcome) our representative would assist you at airport & transfer to hotel for check in.

Day 2: Cochin – Munnar (150 km/ 4 hrs)

Post breakfast at 0900 hrs we leave for a city tour of Cochin, with visits to St. Francis' Church, Dutch Palace (Built by the Portuguese), Jew Town, the Jewish Synagogue built in the year 1568, spice market, where the air is filled with the pungent smell of spices, and Chinese fishing nets. Later in the afternoon we drive to Munnar. The distance of approximately 150 km is covered in around 4 hours while enjoying the scenic beauty with marvellous waterfalls, high mountains and low flying clouds passing through. Upon arrival check-in hotel.

Day 3: Munnar – Periyar (160 km/ 4 hrs)

Today we head for one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in India, the Periyar Wildlife Reserve. Upon arrival at Periyar, we assist you to check in at our hotel. Set on an attractive lakeside, it is South India's most popular Wildlife Sanctuary. Late afternoon at 1500 hrs we shall take you to a guided Spice and plantation tour in one of the Spice Gardens / Plantations for which this region is famous.

Day 4: Periyar – Kumarakom (135 km/ 4 hrs) Kumarakom

Alleppey (Overnight Houseboat) Periyar is a place to cruise on the lake and gives an opportunity to see wildlife. It is home to tigers, leopards, elephants, bison (gaur), antelopes, sambhar, wild boar, money etc, and a wide variety of birds. Early morning before breakfast at 0630 hrs we go for a wildlife viewing to the sanctuary on Lake Periyar by boat cruise. After two hours of wildlife viewing we get back to the hotel for breakfast. Later we leave for Alleppey known for its backwaters; Kerala is famous region for its beautiful backwaters and village life revolving around the banks of these backwaters. On arrival board the houseboat, locally called Kettuvallam, and cruise around backwaters of Kumarakom to Thothapalli to observe and experience the daily life of the villagers along the backwaters. Day 5: Allepey – Kovalam (135 km/ 4 hrs)

Morning Post Breakfast, Check out from the Hotel and Drive to Kovalam, upon arrival transfer and Check in into the Hotel. Kovalam is an internationally renowned beach with three adjacent crescent beaches. It has been a favourite haunt of tourists, especially Europeans, since the 1930 s. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing. The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse. Sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programmes and catamaran cruising are some of them. The tropical sun acts so fast that one can see the faint blush of coppery tan on the skin in a matter of minutes. Life on the beach begins late in the day and carries on well into the night.

Day 6: Kovalam Sightseeing

Have Breakfast at Hotel. Day is free for leisure. Kovalam beach is well known for its beautiful sunset. Each and every day there will be something new to tell about the sunset in Kovalam due to its beauty. The variation of colours such as red, orange and yellow in the sun and sky draw new master piece art works in the sky on every new sunset. Kovalam beach with its amazing sunset beauty attracted photographers all around the world to capture the beauty of sun and sky.

Day 7: Kovalam – Kanyakumari (98 Kms / 02 Hrs)

Morning post breakfast we depart for Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of the Peninsula. Enroute, visit Padmanabhapuram palace & Sucheendram Temple. Kanyakumari, once referred to as the "ALEXANDRIA OF THE EAST", has been a great centre for art, culture, civilization and pilgrimage for years. This is the only place in India where one can enjoy the unique experience of watching the sunset and moonrise simultaneously on a full moon evening.

Day 8: Kanyakumari Sightseeing

Breakfast at Hotel. Today we go on full day sightseeing of Kanyakumari. We visit “Kumari Amman Temple” Kumari Amman Temple dedicated to Goddess Parvati as Devi Kanya (the Virgin Goddess) is an important shrine here. Later we visit “Temple Of Goddess Bhagavathi” this Temple in Kanyakumari is picturesquely located at the confluence of the three oceans - the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Originally built by Pandyas, it was expanded later by Nayaks. The image of the Goddess in the sanctum looks serene and beneficent. The eastern gate of the temple facing the Bay of Bengal is opened only five times a year. Swami “Vivekananda Rock Memorial” The memorial was erected to commemorate the evening of December 25, 1892, when Swami Vivekananda visited Kanyakumari as a pilgrim and swam to the rock in the sea and spent the whole night there in deep meditation.

Day 9: Kanyakumari - Kovalam

Enjoy your lavish Buffet breakfast at Hotel. Day Free for Leisure activity. Kovalam beach is well known not only for its beauty, but also for the entertainment programs and sports conducted on the beach. One of the popular entertainments in Kovalam Beach is to enjoy beach bonfire.

Day 10: Kovalam – Cochin (235 Kms / 05 Hours)

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Later post breakfast we checkout and drive to Cochin, it is 05 Hours drive away from Kovalam. While we take our drive we come across Western Ghats dotted with evergreens, rolling grasslands, shoals and stretches of rejuvenating fragrance of tea and coffee plantations. Arrive Cochin followed by Hotel Check Inn.

Day 11: Depart Cochin

Enjoy you breakfast at Hotel. Post breakfast explore the city on the foot. And take an opportunity to enjoy your shopping of the local market of Kerala. Cochin is known as the main spice trading hubs since the ancient times. Here you can buy the finest tea made at the tea processing units. The cottage industries here produce delicious chocolates and natural honey. The mall culture is fast taking over Kerala. No wonder Kerala is slowly turning into a shopper’s paradise. Apart from the glossy boutiques in the cities that sell the best in western and ethnic wear, there are numerous small scale industries that deal in handicrafts, pickles, tea, chocolates, honey, snacks, bamboo products and spices. Later in the evening we drive to Cochin International airport to boards our flight back to home.
