Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Jammu (By Flight)

Arrival to Jammu. Our representative will meet you at the airport. Check in to the hotel.  We will do Sightseeing in Jammu. Amar Mahal Museum, constructed by King Raja Amar of Dogra in 1890s, is planned by a French architect and looks like a French chateau with Indian artisans. This beautiful architectural monument served as the Royal family residence for many years. It was made out of red sand stone. Later The palace was turned to museum with rich collections of paintings, books, inscriptions and sculptures. The Bahu Fort - an impressive structure is amazing due to its construction itself and is the oldest fort in Jammu city. The fort was constructed by Raja Bahulochan, nearly 300 years ago. A Majestic Garden, known as Bagh-e-Bahu with extensive lawns beautifully filled with flowers and plants surrounds the Bahu Fort. The garden has all types of attractions ranging from plants, shrubs, big trees and flowers to waterfalls. The renowned Bawey Wali Mata Temple is placed interior to the fort and the temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. The local folks believed that this Goddess, Bawey Wali Mata, is the presiding deity of the whole region of Jammu. Lots of devotees throng to this temple offering prayers on Tuesdays and Sundays. It is strongly believed that the Bawey Wali Mata has mystical powers and the temple is second only to Mata Vaishno Devi temple.

Day 2: Jammu - Katra (32 km – 1 Hour)

In the morning transfer to Katra. Enroute visit Raghunath Temple, Ranbireshwar Temple. Raghunath Temple is one of the largest temple complexes of the Northern part of India, is a well-known holy shrine of the Hindus. This temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, who is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The prime deities of this temple are different incarnations of the Hindu Sun God - Surya, the Hindu God of destruction - Shiva, and the Hindu God of preservation - Vishnu.  Construction of the temple began by Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1851 and ended in 1857 by his son Maharaja Ranbir Singh Ranbireshwar Temple, built by Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1883, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It has one central Lingam (7.5 ft.)- Biggest in India, twelve crystal Shiva Lingams and galleries with thousands of Shiva Lingams fixed on stone slabs.

Day 3: Katra – Vaisnodevi Shrine (14 km) – Katra

After breakfast, start your journey to Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine. Mata Vaishno Devi Temple is one of the oldest shrines of India, located at a height of 5300 feet on the holy Trikuta Hills of the Shivalik Hill Range.  It is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Shakti and is the second most visited religious shrine in India after Tirupati Balaji Temple. Trek to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine (14 km), ponies/helicopter can also be arranged for the trek at your own cost. Return back to Katra late in the evening.

Day 4: Katra – Patnitop (80 km - 3 hours)

After Breakfast, proceed to Patnitop. You will be taken for half day sightseeing to Sanasar and Nathatop. Patnitop is a hilltop tourist location in Udhampur district, in Jammu and Kashmir, lies on a plateau at height of 2024 meters above the sea level. The river Chenab flows in close proximity to this location. During winters Patnitop is completely snow covered. There are several picnic spots in Patnitop, as pine forests on all sides surround it. This area is perfect for nature walks. Tours and travel to Patnitop usually involves a lot of picnicking. There are three fresh water springs at Patnitop and it is believed that the waters here are medicinal. There are facilities for those interested in pony rides and camping activities. A range of trekking options is available here. Summer is the season when all trekking routes are open while some are open in winter too. Skiing courses are conducted at Patnitop in the months of January and February. There are introductory courses for tourists/beginners at gentle gradient slopes of Patnitop during winter months. The Nag (Cobra) Temple near Patnitop is more than 600 years old. Predominantly made of wood, this temple has weathered several centuries although it is not a conventional solid temple construction. During the Nag Panchami Festival, hundreds of Shiva devotees throng to this temple to pay respects and worship the snake King Cobra.

Day 5: Patnitop - Jammu Departure

 You will be transferred by car to Jammu airport for your onward journey.
