Ghandruk - Pokhra
Tour Overview
Nepal, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked country in South Asia. It is located mainly in the Himalayas but also includes parts of the Indo-Gangetic Plain. With an estimated population of 26.4 million, it is 48th largest country by population and 93rd largest country by area. Great Himalayan scenery. Comfortable trek with lots of tea-houses.
Day 1: Pokhara - Pothana (1900 metres)
Pick up from hotel in Pokhara and drive to Suikhet Phedi on Pokhara – Baglung highway, for 45 minutes. Take the right hand track uphill through thin forest, farmland and scattered villages to Dhanpus village on an elevation of 1650 metres, which offers the spectacular views of the snow clad mountains of the Annapurna range including the famous Mt. Machapuchre. A further walk of one hour will take you to Pothana for overnight stop. (Total Walking time 4 hours). Overnight at wayside lodge in Pothana.
Day 2: Pothana - Langdrung (1565 metres)
After breakfast, take the gradual uphill track to Deorali and then steep down walk through thick forest of rhododendron until Bhichuk where the trail eases. We further walk on an easy trail to Tolka for lunch. Post lunch we see easy downhill walk to Langdrung which is our night stop place. Total walking time of 4 hours. We can see the views of mighty Himalayas from Langdrung as well. Overnight at wayside lodge in Langdrung.
Day 3: Langdrung - Ghandruk (1940 metres)
We walk down to Modi Khola (river) cross it on a suspension bridge and see a steep uphill walk to the large Gurung village of Ghandruk. To be in Ghandruk it takes 3 hours and we have both lunch and dinner there. Rest of the time we can utilise by going on a local excursion and exploring the area. Ghandruk is famous for recruiting the personnel to the British and Indian Army. Also offers the magnificent views of the peaks of Annapurna range including Mt., machapuchre, Annapurna South, Gangapurna and other in the east. Overnight at wayside lodge in Ghandruk.
Day 4: Ghandruk - Nayapul – Pokhara
We take a gradual descent walk to Seuli Bazar for 2 hours and get on a flat land walk through rice fields until Birethanti. We further walk on a very busy trail approximately one hour to Nayapul and then drive back to Pokhara. Total walking time is 4 hours. Trek trip ends in Pokhara.
