Tour Overview

South America is a continent in the Western Hemisphere, mostly in the Southern Hemisphere, with a relatively small portion in the Northern Hemisphere. Argentina is a massive South American nation with terrain encompassing Andes mountains, glacial lakes and Pampas grassland, the traditional grazing ground of its famed beef cattle. The country is famous for tango dance and music. On the other side Brazil, a vast South American country, stretches from the Amazon Basin in the north to vineyards and massive Iguaçu Falls in the south. Rio de Janeiro, symbolized by its 38m Christ the Redeemer statue atop Mount Corcovado, is famed for its busy Copacabana and Ipanema beaches as well as its enormous, raucous Carnaval festival, featuring parade floats, flamboyant costumes, and samba music and dance.

Day 1: Arrive Buenos Aires

Arrive Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina and well known as the Paris of South America. Meet and greet by our local representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2: Half Day City Tour

Attractions: Avenida de Mayo,San Telmo,La Boca,City Zoo,Botanical Garden

After buffet breakfast, we proceed for the half day city tour of South America’s most elegant capital. During this tour we will visit Avenida de Mayo that runs into the Plaza De Mayo, which is surrounded by the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo (first City Hall, built during Spanish rule). At the other end of Avenida de Mayo you find the Congress Building. Then we continue to San Telmo, the best kept historical neighborhood and eldest district of Buenos Aires. Here we have time to stroll around Plaza Dorrego, where you find many antique shops. Next stop is La Boca, a most colorful area. At the famous street, Caminito, you will meet painters offering their Tango pictures. Passing Colon Theatre, one of the world's best known opera houses and the cultural pride of the portenos (as the inhabitants of Buenos Aires are commonly called), we continue to Palermo with its beautiful parks, the City Zoo, Botanical Garden, Argentine Horse Track and National Polo Fields. Palermo is beautiful for its artificial lakes. At the end of the tour we will visit Recoleta area, one of the city's glamorous spots. Afternoon is free to explore on your own. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 3: Buenos Aires - day at Leisure

After buffet breakfast, day at leisure to visit famous Florida Street for leather buys or take an optional tour. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 4: Buenos Aires – El Calafate

After buffet breakfast, we transfer you to the Aeroporaque Airport with the assistance of a local guide. Take a flight to El Calafate. Arrive in Calafate where you will be met and transferred to your Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 5: Full day Glacier Perinto Moreno with Moreno Fiesta

Attractions: Perito Moreno Glacier

After buffet breakfast, we proceed for Glaciers National Park. This park stretches parallel to the Andes for over 120 miles (200km). On the boundary with Chile, lies the eastern side of the continental Ice Cap. A majestic glacier that descends from the Ice Cap into the Lake Argentino, forming a barrier 3 kms wide and 50 meters high. The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the natural wonders of the world and a reminder of the Ancient Ice Age. Enjoy the natural show of the thundering falling ice from a wooden catwalk directly in front of the Canal de los Tempanos (Icebergs Canal) that separates the Brazo Rico from the main lake. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 6: El Calafate – Iguazu

After buffet breakfast, transfer to El Calafate Airport with the assistance of local guide. Take a flight to Iguazu. On arrival at Iguazu, meet and greet by our local representative and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 7: Half Day Iguassu Falls

Attractions: Iguassu Falls

After buffet breakfast, we proceed for half day tour of Iguassu Falls, exploring the never to be forgotten spectacle of 175 cataracts, miles of water hurtling over precipices higher than a 30 storey building. Walking along the 1.500 mts long paths following cascades and then walking along the catwalk that leads very close to the bottom of the Devil's Throat, you will enjoy magnificent views. There is also an elevator for those wishing to view and shoot the falls from the top. (including entrance fee to the National Park). Also you will visit the city of Puerto Iguassu and the point of the 3 frontiers (where Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil come together) at an optional cost. Afternoon at leisure to explore the area on your own or visit the Itaipu Dam at an optional cost. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 8: Iguazu – Rio De Janeiro

After buffet breakfast, transfer to Foz Do Iguazu Airport with the assistance of a local guide. Take a flight to Rio De Janeiro. On arrival at Rio De Janeiro, you will be met by our local representative and transfered to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 9: Half Day Tour to Corcovado & Beaches

After buffet breakfast, we proceed to Cosme Velho Station to board a cog-train for the ride through Tijuca Forest up Corcovado Mountain. The train ride takes 20 minutes and is a wonderful opportunity for a closer look at the forest's lush tropical vegetation and to enjoy scenic landscapes of the beaches and city. Disembarking at the top of Corcovado and then proceeding up the steps that lead to the top lookout where the towering statue of Christ the Redeemer stands at 2,300 ft above sea level, a breathtaking view of the city of Rio de Janeiro, the Guanabara Bay, Sugar Loaf Mountain, the 9 mile Rio-Niteroi Bridge, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. After appreciating the breathtaking view unfolding below, you will descend by train. The tour proceeds passing by Rio's world-famous beaches. Return to the hotel and overnight at Hotel.

Day 10: Rio De Janeiro - Day at Lesiure

After buffet breakfast, the day is at leisure to enjoy the beaches of Ipanema or Copacabana, the sidewalk cafes and Rio’s exciting night life. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 11: Rio De Janeiro – Manaus – Amazon Forest

After buffet breakfast, we proceed to the International Airport for your flight to Manaus. On arrival at Manaus you will be met by our local representative and transferred to the pier. After a short rest, visit to the home of local Amazonian residents with fishing tour . Evening tour by canoe with opportunity for Alligator Spotting. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 12: Full Day Excursion – Meeting of the Waters

After buffet breakfast, take a full day excursion to see the Meeting of the Waters where the Negro River meets the Amazon River traveling together for miles without mixing their waters; continue for dugout canoe trip through the flooded jungle, called Igarapes and Igapos where you will see the huge famous Victoria Regias (Amazon water lilies). Lunch will be served during the tour. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 13: Return Home

After buffet breakfast, visit to the Jungle Monkey. Check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Sao Paulo, connecting to your onward flight to India.
