Baku - Gabala
Tour Overview
Azerbaijan, the nation and former Soviet republic, is bounded by the Caspian Sea and Caucasus Mountains, which span Asia and Europe. Its capital, Baku, is famed for its medieval walled Inner City. Within the Inner City lies the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, a royal retreat dating to the 15th century, and the centuries-old stone Maiden Tower, which dominates the city skyline. On the other side Gabala (also known as Qabala) is a city in northern Azerbaijan. To the southwest, Chukhur Gabala village has ancient ruins, including imposing gate towers, from the city’s time as capital of Caucasian Albania. On the city’s northeastern outskirts, the Tufandag Winter–Summer Mountain Resort offers ski runs. An ancient Albanian church is in Boyuk Amili, nearby. To the west, Nij is home to the native Udi people.
Day 1: Baku
Attractions: Upland Park,Torgovy street,Fountains Square
Arrival at Haydar Aliyev International Airpor. Welcoming by our company representative and transfer and check-in at hotel. Time at leisure and Dinner at Indian restaurant. Flames of Baku evening excursion- Excursion starts from the Upland Park that overlooks a spectacular view of nightlife city sparkling with bright lights. Upland Park is located on a high hill in the western part of the city. It is the best spot to observe the city itself and the Baku Bay. The Flame Towers, trio of skyscrapers located at the Upland Park impress the guests with their fascinating modernity and elegance - Night promenade on Baku Boulevard. Seaside Boulevard is one of the main attractions of the capital. This over 100 year old sightseeing is a favorite leisure area of residents and guests of Baku - tour ends with walking tour on Torgovy street and Fountains Square. In the middle of XIX century the street gained the name of Torgovy (trade) due to its favorable location and abundance of trade shops there. However, officially it is named after prominent Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi. Transfer to hotel and overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Baku
Attractions: Caravanserais and Mosques,Maiden Tower,Museum of Miniature Books,Shirvanshah Palace
Breakfast at hotel. Baku city tour starts in the old part of the city, at the entrance to the Twin Castle Gates (Gosha Gala) and continues through narrow streets. Old City encircles a number of historic-architectural monuments including the followings: Caravanserais and Mosques, Maiden Tower – ancient symbol of the city (V-VII centuries), Museum of Miniature Books – included into Guinness World Records in 2015, Shirvanshah Palace (XII-XV centuries) with over thousand years old history. Lunch at Indian restaurant. Excursion continues with the trip to modern Baku. The tour covers the central part of the city accenting mainly on historical and architectural sites of interest: Flag Square, Ferris Wheel, modern and old buildings at Seafront Boulevard (Carpet Museum, International Mugham Center, Minor Venice, Old Parachute Tower), Architectural buildings located at the Caspian coast. Excursion ends with a visit to Haydar Aliyev Centre - an internationally recognized architectural work. The building of the Center has become a signature landmark of modern Baku due to its innovative and cutting-edge design. Dinner at Indian restaurant. Transfer to hotel and overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Gabala
Attractions: Nohur lake,Greater Caucasian Mountains
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Gabala. Gabala is a north-eastern mountainous region and very popular tourist attraction of the country. The region is famed for its virgin nature, snowy mountains, picturesque lakes and falls. Arrival in Gabala and Lunch at Indian restaurant. Trip to Nohur lake to enjoy beautiful landscape and photoshoot. Then visit to Tufandag Summer-Winter Complex ride on 1900 m high cableway through the breathtaking Greater Caucasian Mountains - experience winter activities such as skiing and sledging, tubing, snowboarding, snowmobile ride and many more. Leisure time at at Gabala Shooting Center- rifle/pistol shooting - archery shooting. Dinner at Indian restaurant. Transfer to Baku overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Baku
Breakfast at hotel. Absheron tour - Trip to Ateshgah, the fire worshippers temple located on Baku outskirts and built over the centuries by Indian merchants travelling thru the Great Silk Route The temple is one of the many indicators about existence of Zoroastrianism in ancient Azerbaijan. Then visit to Yanardagh burning mount near the Digah settlement. From 5th century on Yanardagh had been referred in ancient historic books. Lunch at Indian restaurant. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5: Departure
Breakfast and check-out from hotel and transfer to airport for flight.
