Buenos Aires - El Calafate - Puerto Natales - Santiago
Tour Overview
South America is a continent in the Western Hemisphere, mostly in the Southern Hemisphere, with a relatively small portion in the Northern Hemisphere. Chile is a long, narrow country stretching along South America's western edge, with more than 6,000km of Pacific Ocean coastline. Santiago, its capital, sits in a valley surrounded by the Andes and Chilean Coast Range mountains. The city's palm-lined Plaza de Armas contains the neoclassical cathedral and the National History Museum. The massive Parque Metropolitano offers swimming pools, a botanical garden and zoo. Argentina is a massive South American nation with terrain encompassing Andes mountains, glacial lakes and Pampas grassland, the traditional grazing ground of its famed beef cattle. The country is famous for tango dance and music. Its big, cosmopolitan capital, Buenos Aires, is centered on the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, balconied presidential palace.
Day 1: Arrive Santiago
Arrive at Santiago which is capital Capital of Chile located in the Central Valley, framed by the majestic Mountain range of the Andes. The beautiful and extensive valleys that surround the city give rise to famous Chilean wines, in addition to a pleasant Mediterranean climate, between summits of the mountain range with their winter centers and the privileged coast of the Pacific Ocean. On arrival you will meet our local representative & transfer to hotel. Afternoon proceed for half day city tour of Santiago. A panoramic tour includes the main attractions of the capital, where you will appreciate the contrast between the city's rich history and its modern and imposing buildings. We will see the Government Palace, the Main Square Plaza de Armas, Santa Lucia Hill, the Metropolitan Park and the exclusive residential areas of Vitactura and Las Condes. Rest of the day at leisure for personal activities. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Santiago – Punta Arenas – Puerto Natales
Attractions: Torres del Paine National Park
After breakfast transfer to the airport to take flight to Punta Arenas. Arrive at Punta Arenas and transfer to Puerto Natales (approx 3 Hrs) by bus. Arrive at Puerto Natales the gateway to the worldwide known Torres del Paine National Park, one of the most attractive National Parks in Chile. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 3: Puerto Natales – Serrano and Balmaceda Glaciers – Puerto Natales
Attractions: The Serrano and Balmaceda glaciers
After Breakfast Proceed to pie for full day excursion to the Serrano and Balmaceda Glaciers. Visit The Serrano and Balmaceda glaciers from the wharf in Puerto Natales at around 08:00 in the morning, sailing next to the coast to go into in the sine surrounded by hills and forests, where if the conditions of the climate allows it, the sea elephants can be seen resting on the rocks and hundreds of cormorants ventilating their extended wings. After 3 hours of navigation you arrive at Balmaceda hill (2,035 ms), with its summit covered with ice that falls in colossal snowdrifts to the sea. The boat comes near the Balmaceda snowdrift and stops in the Serrano snowdrift, where you land for a walk in the forest until the border of the lagoon full of icebergs and with a wonderful view of the hills and the Ultima Esperanza sine. The return to the wharf is made bordering the opposite shore of the sine. (Arrival to the wharf at approx 16:30 hrs.) (Daily Navigation during the months of September through March. From April to September excursion operates only on Sundays and depending on Weather conditions.)
Day 4: Puerto Natales – Torres del Paine National Park – Puerto Natales
Attractions: Torres del Paine National Park
After breakfast depart from Puerto Natales at 7.30 Hrs, we will first visit the Milodon cave. To see it, we need to walk about 30 minutes. Then, we continue to Cerro Castillo Village, there we stop for about 15 minutes, from that point we drive to Torres del Paine National Park to arrive to the park entrance we stop in all the view points of the road and also we have chances to see wild life on the way. Inside the national park we walk in two places: one to see the waterfall salto grande it takes about 30 minutes, then we go to a restaurant for lunch, and after this we go to walk to reach shore of lake grey to see a line of icebergs and a part of glacier grey which is at the other side of the lake. This one takes about 1 hour. At the park we also see lakes sarmiento, nordenskjold, pehoe, amarga and the mountains of the paine massif like torres,cuernos and paine grande. We will be back at Puerto Natales around 20.00 Hrs. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Puerto Natales – El Calafate
After breakfast at hotel transfer to the bus terminal to take a regular service bus to El Calafate (Argentina, 5 hours approx). Transfer from Bus Station to the hotel. Check in at hotel. El Calafate declared national capital of the glaciers, is the starting point to visit the fascinating world of Los Glaciares National Park.The village is an important tourist destination that has become worldwide famous in the last few years. Most circuits towards the glaciers, especially, the well-known Perito Moreno Glacier, start in the town.The calving of the Perito Moreno and the possibility to sail close to it in order to watch its walls from a close distance, or walk on it by hiring a hiking tour have lured visitors from all over the world. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: El Calafate – Perito Moreno Glaciar – El Calafate
Attractions: Perito Moreno glacier
Breakfast at the hotel. Today enjoy full day tour of Perito Moreno glacier. Bordering the South border of the Argentine lake, we arrive to the National Park of Glaciers, crossing Magellan Penninsula, to arrive at the Perito Moreno glacier. From the footbridges, the landslides of the glacier can be observed before embarking to approach the wall of the glacier and admire this World Heritage monument. The tour does not include lunch. Return to the hotel.
Day 7: El Calafate
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day free at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: El Calafate – Buenos Aires
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out and transfer to the airport to take flight to Buenos Aires. On arriving to the airport of Buenos Aires (Domestic flights airport), you will find assistance and a transfer to the hotel of your choice. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Buenos Aires
Attractions: The Obelisk,Plaza de Mayo Square,Avenida De Mayo Square,San Telmo
After breakfast at the hotel proceed for an interesting tour around the city of Buenos Aires. This tour portrays the many faces of Buenos Aires: we will visit the symbol of our city, The Obelisk, squares such as Plaza de Mayo, Plaza San Martin and Plaza Alvear; Avenida De Mayo, Corrientes and 9 de Julio among other avenues; La Boca and San Telmo, historic neighborhoods, the magnificent Palermo and Recoleta areas and modern neighborhoods like Puerto Madero; Lezama Park and Tres de Febrero (known as Bosques de Palermo) along with the Ecologic Reserve of the Costanera Sur and the commercial and financial areas of the city. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 10: Return
Breakfast at the hotel. Check out and transfer to Ezeiza International Airport for your flight back to home.
