Tour Overview
Taiwan, officially the Republic of China, is a state in East Asia. Neighbouring states include the People's Republic of China to the west, Japan to the northeast, and the Philippines to the south. Taiwan is the most populous state and largest economy that is not a member of the United Nations. Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is a modern metropolis with Japanese colonial lanes, busy shopping streets and contemporary buildings. The skyline is crowned by the 509m-tall, bamboo-shaped Taipei 101 skyscraper, with upscale shops at the base and a rapid elevator to an observatory near the top. Taipei is also known for its lively street-food scene and many night markets, including expansive Shilin market. Taichung is an industrial city on the western side of central Taiwan. It’s a gateway for exploring the island’s mountainous interior, including nature areas like Sun Moon Lake, popular for boating and hiking. In the bustling city center are museums, temples and the ornate brick Taichung Station, a legacy of the Japanese colonial period (1895–1945).Kaohsiung is a massive port city in southern Taiwan. It's home to many skyscrapers, such as the 248m-tall Tuntex Sky Tower, and is known for its diversity of parks. Its focal point is the Love River, with walking paths and cafes along its banks, and cruise boats navigating its waters. Shopping options range from high-end malls to the Liuhe and Ruifeng night markets.
Day 1: Arrive Taipei
Arrive at Taipei Taoyuan International airport. You will be met by a local representative and transferred to your hotel in Taipei. Rest of the day at leisure to explore Taipei on your own. At the optional cost you can go for trekking in the magnificence of the cliffs at Taroko Gorge; taking a ride on the Alishan Forest Railway and experiencing the breathtaking sunrise and sea of clouds; hiking up to the summit of Northeast Asia's highest peak, Yu Mountain (Yushan). You can also soak up the sun in Kending (Kenting), Asia's version of Hawaii; stand at the edge of Sun Moon Lake; wander through the East Rift Valley; or visit the offshore islands of Kinmen and Penghu. Experience the age-old aboriginal culture, see a traditional Taiwanese town and restore your soul at one of the many Taiwanese temples. Day 2: Taipei - Taichung
Attractions: Leofoo Village,African Safari,The Feng Jia Night Market
After breakfast, check out and depart to Taichung by coach (approx 2 hours). Arrive at Taichung and check in at hotel. Proceed for visit of Leofoo Village – This is located in Guanxi, Hsinchu County. 'African Safari' is the one and only wild animal zoo in Taiwan. You can take the Nairobi Express, Carnivore Area's tour bus and sky bicycle to view the beauty of these wild animals closely. Leofoo Water Park has fast slowing and slow slowing river in Taiwan, the first water slides in a height of 15 meters in Taiwan, and other 8 kinds of slides with different features. In addition, they have the Wave pool, Water Cannon, Dancing Fountains, and the attractions specially designed for family and children to give a whole new experience, and the exquisite cuisine with Mediterranean style from exotic restaurant. Then visit The Feng Jia Night Market which is one of Taichung's famous commercial business districts, covering approximately one kilometer in diameter around Feng Chia University and includes the Fengjia-Wenhua Night Market, Fengjia Rd., and Fuxing Rd. In this CBD, you can find delicious snack foods, quality clothes at reasonable prices to express your unique personality, and the trendiest mobile phones at excellent bargain prices. Day 3: Taichung – Kaohsiung
Attractions: Sun Moon Lake,Wenwu Temple
After breakfast, check out and proceed by coach to Kaohsiung (approx 1 ½ hours). En route first proceed to the popular Sun Moon Lake area. Crowned as one of the Eight Wonders of Taiwan, Sun Moon Lake is also the most famous source of hydroelectric power; offering key tourist themes - high mountain and lake, indigenous culture, and nature ecology, the Sun Moon Lake Scenic Area attracts more than six million visits each year. Sun Moon Lake features the only full-range 3D tours (lake, sky and land) in Taiwan. The natural forests are good places for bird watching. There are lots of walking and biking trails here as well as gardens, waterfalls, shopping and delicacies, restaurant, handmade pottery art, traditional band and dance performances, recreation areas, tribal tours, etc. Then proceed to visit the Wenwu Temple over here - Wenwu Temple is located at the shoulder of mountain which is on the north of Sun Moon Lake. After this proceed further to Kaohsiung. Visit the Alishan Tea Plantation and visit tea production area and learn how Gaoshan (High Mountain) Oolong Tea is made. Then late evening come back to Kaohsiung city and proceed to 'Lieu He Night Market'. It is not far away if you walk from Kaohsiung Railway Station. Dozens of steak houses boom around the market offering beef steak. No matter what you like to have, a variety of delicious food, specialties, cold drinks, ices and seafood is available here. Don't miss the opportunity to taste the papaya milk and steamed salty shrimps here. Lunch and Dinner at Indian restaurant. Then check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel in Kaohsiung.
Day 4: Kaohsiung
Attractions: Lotus Lake,Xi Zi Bay,Dream Mall
After breakfast, first proceed to the north-east of Dashu Township in Kaohsiung County on the left bank of the Gaoping River, a famous tourist destination. Here you will find the Buddhist Centre of South Taiwan, Fo Kuang Shan. Then visit the Lotus Lake, the famous scenic area on the northern outskirts of Kaohsiung City. Then proceed to Xi Zi Bay – perched on the sea at the western edge of Kaohsiung city. The main feature is a swimming beach known for its clear blue waters, the beauty of its sunsets and its natural reefs. The long breakwater here is the landmark of Xi Zi Bay, and basking in the sea breeze on the breakwater gives the most pleasant and comfortable sensation imaginable. Then visit the Dream Mall – nature, life and maritime culture converge at this mall, Kaohsiung city's first international class shopping and leisure centre. The front Blue Whale Hall raises seven floors while the main building has nine aboveground floors plus two underground levels parking. There are around 600 major retail shops. The innovative mall design incorporates natural and maritime motifs based on water, flowers, nature and universe. The mall has leisure, recreation, art, culture and dining facilities. Day 5: Kaohsiung – Taipei
Attractions: National Palace Museum,Longshan Temple
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the station for the High Speed Rail back to Taipei. Arrive at Taipei and proceed for tour of Taipei 101 – Observatory tower, which has the world's fastest elevators and takes only 37 seconds to travel up from 5th level to 89th level observatory. Besides this there is also the first international top brand shopping mall here with luxury boutiques, fashion and gourmet food. Then visit the grandiose CKS Memorial Hall in downtown Taipei to pay homage to the late President. After that visit National Palace Museum an antique museum, that houses the world's largest collection of priceless Chinese art treasures, one which spans China's nearly 5000 year history. Then visit the Longshan Temple which is a famous old temple for worshipping Buddha and other divine spirits. The temple architecture is a three section design in shape and due to natural disasters and damages caused by men, the temple was restored several times. Then visit 'Ximending' – a centre for recreation. This word came from the period of Japanese colonization. Lunch and Dinner at Indian restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Taipei.
Day 6: Depart Taipei
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
