Welcome to Mehrangarh Museum

Fort Mehrangarh is located near Jodhpur on a hilltop (125 m). It was laid (around 1459) by Rao Jodh, the founder of Jodhpur. The Fort Museum contains a rich collection of palanquins, attributes of power, miniatures, musical instruments, costumes and furniture. Strengthening the fort not only provides a reliable defense, they also offer breathtaking views of the city. This is a series of beautiful courtyards and halls with stone lattices on the windows, which in the past was the fortress palace of the fort Mehrangarh - an excellent example of Rajput architecture. The carving here is so thin that sometimes it seems like the building is made of sandalwood rather than sandstone. Timing: Every day. summer 8.30-17.30, winter 9.00-17.00, Rs 250 (including audio guide
