'Muddurajakeri' which literally means the town of Mudduraja, It was named after the prominent Haleri king, Mudduraja who ruled Kodagu from 1633 - 1687.Madikeri lies in the Western Ghats and Madikeri is a one of the popular hill stations in Karnataka.
