Port Blair is both the capital and the largest city on the islands with more than 100,000 inhabitants. The port city is located on the island of South Andaman. For the sake of justice it is worth noting that this is the only populated point on the islands, which can be safely called a city in the broadest sense of the word. From the name it becomes clear that Port Blair is located on the seashore and it is from here that various ships disperse capable of bringing tourists to this or that island for an unforgettable stay in the bosom of tropical nature. Sometimes white liners enter the port, which put a lot of European tourists of retirement age ashore. Such ships here do not stay long, the city is small and you can see it in a matter of hours. In the rest it is a typical Indian city: inexpensive hotels and restaurants with spicy Indian cuisine, filled with motorcycles and scooters, narrow streets, invariably hospitable and smiling locals. In the center is a low clock tower.
