Short Description

This is the shortest trek in Bhutan. Also as the trek starts and ends in Paro itself so this trek requires the shortest duration for the entire trip. The trek starts from the north of the valley and ends in North West of the valley ending with Tiger’s nest, one of the holiest places in Bhutan. ​

Detailed Itinerary

 
Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Thimphu (50km - 1.2Hours)

Arrive by International flight, Himalayan peaks, including the sacred Mt. Chomolhari and Mt. Jichudrakey in Bhutan are simply awesome. On arrival in Paro you will be received by Monks & Monkeys representative and transfer to Thimphu by private car. Thimphu is capital city of Bhutan. On arrival, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit Memorial Chorten built in the memory of our late 3rd king and further drive to Buddha viewpoint to visit largest Buddha statue in the world. Evening relax at your hotel or explore the charming city.

Day 2: Thimphu sightseeing

Morning breakfast at hotel, we will explore city more, visit Changgangkha Lhakhang, Takin’s mini Zoo, Painting school, National library, Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Museum and Handmade Paper Factory are some of the sightseeing that you can see in Thimphu. In the evening we will visit Tashichho Dzong, fortress which houses the throne room of His Majesty the king and summer resident for central monk body. After sightseeing back to hotel and rest.

Day 3: Thimphu - Punakha (85km - 2.5Hours)

We will checkout from the hotel and drive to Punakha over Dochula pass at 3050 m. If the weather permits we can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a site that stretches almost 180 degrees. After our packaged lunch we will visit Punakha Dzong (fortress) which houses the most elaborated temple in the country. One can also visit Souvenir making center and evening back to the hotel.

Day 4: Punakha Halt

Day for special activity, morning after the breakfast we will drive to rafting star point where we will be met by our expert rafting team, they will brief us on rules for raft, provide all the necessary equipments like lifejacket, helmet etc. The experience of floating in Mochu is like nowhere in the world, especially when we pass down by beautiful fortress. An hour and half rafting will come to the end at Khuruthang valley from where will proceed to Wangdue for day excursion. Evening back to the hotel.

Day 5: Punakha - Paro

Retrace the drive back to Paro. En route visit Chimi Lhakang on foot, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus. Afternoon in Paro visit National Museum, the first of its kind which has a collection from natural history to religious paintings, visit 17 century Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge still in use. Evening stroll old Paro town and peep into some local handicrafts stores. One can also venture to try local restaurant for dinner.

Day 6: Paro sightseeing

Early morning after our delicious breakfast drive to north end of Paro valley and hike to Tiger Nest Temple. The hike to Tiger’s Nest will take most of our day. The temple is one of the most renowned temple in the Buddhist world one of the ten most visit site before we die. This is most revolted temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking the Paro Valley at 900 m above the valley. En-route visit Kichu Lhakhang, one from the 2 oldest Buddhist temples in the country, historic Drukgyal Dzong (Fortress) and Evening at leisure.

Day 7: Paro - Departure

The tour will end today. After the breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
