Tanzhor is a district center in the state of Tamil Nadu with a population of more than 200 thousand people. Thanjavur is on the way from Chidambaram to Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), 200 km south of Chennai ( Madras ), 105 km west of Trankebar and 55 km east of Trich. Since antiquity, Thanjavur has been known as an important political, religious, and cultural center of South India.

Thanjavur (Tanjavur or Tanjore) is a temple site in the Tamil Nadu region of southern India.
